Lack of ability to love ourselves is the biggest obstacle we face in life. How to strengthen self-love? Learn some tips to develop this valuable skill.
Fight your inner critic
Our inner voice often makes critical statements that detract from our self-esteem and negatively affect our self-esteem. We focus on our flaws and weaknesses and overlook our strengths.
Since you’re doing this anyway, it’s best if you write down these negative sentences on a piece of paper. This way you will separate them from your emotions, look at them from a distance and gain a new perspective. You will learn what blocks you and prevents you from loving yourself.
Praise yourself
If you want to accept and love yourself, start praising and complimenting yourself. Every morning, stand in front of the mirror, look yourself in the eyes and say out loud what you like and appreciate about yourself. Remind yourself of your achievements and tell yourself that you are proud of them. This will improve your mood and boost your self-esteem.
Notice your positives
Write out a list of your positives on a piece of paper. Focus on what you are good at, list your advantages, skills and abilities. If you have trouble with this, ask someone close to you for help. A kind person who is an attentive observer of your person will certainly be able to point out your strengths. This will make you realize how much you are worth!
Release negative emotions
First, concentrate on what you are feeling. Anxiety, anger, grief, a sense of hurt, or maybe insecurity? Release the negative emotions and in their place there will be space to be yourself and love yourself as you really are.
Give yourself the right to be happy
Above all, remember that you are a beautiful, smart, good and valuable person who deserves to be happy. Don’t be afraid to fulfill your desires and needs. Don’t forget to do something for yourself, take time for yourself and pamper yourself. Take care of your soul and body!
